Caterpillaree

Abby has/had her first pet. She named him Caterpillaree. We found him eating the leaves on our trees out back, so Grandma fixed up a home for him. Abby was very excited to watch him turn into a butterfly. After about two weeks we figured out that wasn't going to happen. We tried to tell her, but still every day she talked about him turning into a butterfly. Unfortunately, Caterpillaree is no longer with us. He died a week or so ago without ever turning into a butterfly. I think next spring I'm going to order some caterpillars online so hopefully will be caterpillars, and not just worms.

Abby still doesn't quite get it yet, she think caterpillaree's just taking a nap and will wake up later. :( Here's some pictures of Abby's first pet:

Trampoline fun

The kids got this trampoline for their birthday and there has been hours of entertainment in it. This is their newest trick that they love:

And Mommy wins the "worst mommy of the day" award with this one. They were just having so much fun. Don't worry, no one was harmed in the making of this video.

Zoo pics

I'm going to apologize in advance because this post is going to be very picture heavy. My mom and I took the kids to the zoo a couple of weeks ago. We went once last summer when Caleb was about 8-9 weeks old, so this was really his first time to see all the animals. He really enjoyed it. Abby was so excited to see one thing, that she didn't want to move on to the next thing. It was like pulling teeth to get her away from each exhibit.

Checking out the lions. (She doesn't quite get it yet. She was calling them all sorts of things like tigers, leopards, and jaguars. Apparently they are all the same thing in her mind.)

Oh my gosh, she had so much fun with this orangutan. He was literally playing peek-a-boo with her. He would turn his head to the side, then look back at her. The zoo wasn't very crowded and she probably spent 15 minutes just staring at him and playing. He was awesome!

Like I said, she enjoys the fake animals. Last year when she was here, Alyce and her were on this same turtle and they fell off and hit their heads. She still remembers that! She has such a good memory. She kept telling Caleb, "Hold on, don't fall off and bump your head."
On our train ride. Caleb really liked it.

She really liked the carousel. The last time we tried to ride one, Caleb was scared to death, so we sat this ride out.
